Caregiver support

Providing care and support for a neurodivergent loved one - whether they are a child or an adult - can be an incredibly rewarding experience. It can also be complicated and messy, at times. Our clinicians are here to help navigate the many ups and downs of caregiving, all through the lens of supporting neurodivergent individuals’ autonomy and self-determination. Common themes of caregiver support include creating systems within the home that help everyone function more independently, navigating school and/or employment systems, learning collaborative problem-solving, life transitions, and self-care for caregivers.

Some caregiver support can be billed with insurance, depending on individual plans.

Advocacy

Navigating school, employment, and the medical system can be complex. At MRP, we can help you narrow down and identify your needs, seek accommodations, and communicate effectively.

Education: an MRP advocate can help you understand the IEP/504 process, explore appropriate supports and accommodations, attend meetings, problem solve collaboratively with school teams, and more.

Employment: an MRP advocate can support you in determining how your strengths and needs align with your role in the workplace, communicating with coworkers and supervisors, request accommodations if necessary, and more.

Healthcare: an MRP advocate can help you navigate the complex medical system by helping you to define your healthcare needs and communicate those needs to the appropriate healthcare professional. Healthcare advocacy is often combined with executive functioning coaching to support medication management and follow through with scheduling and communication, especially when dealing with multiple professionals.

Some advocacy services can be billed with insurance, depending on individual plans.
